Dr. Hoffman is a licensed psychologist who is deeply passionate about helping women improve their relationships with themselves and the world around them. She uses a strengths-based, integrative approach to tailor therapy to each client, and loves to help women see and express the strengths they often overlook in themselves. Her clients love her warmth, kindness, and ability to provide life changing insight and skills.
Dr. Hoffman’s specialties include working with trauma survivors, adult children of dysfunctional families, and clients with body-related concerns, such as chronic pain and body image. She is also adept at working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, and grief. She is passionate about helping women overcome shame, which often includes helping women interrogate narratives of internalized oppression. She also specializes in working with young professionals, and college and graduate students, empowering them in creating a fulfilling life and career.
Dr. Hoffman uses warmth, humor, and a collaborative, empowering style to build strong relationships with her clients. Her clients often say they feel safe and connected from their first meeting. She employs evidence-based treatments, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and often incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, and body-focused interventions to help clients transform their relationship with painful experiences.

Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from University of Iowa
B.A. with honors in Psychology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
