Dr. Margolis is a clinical psychologist committed to helping her clients connect with the truest version of themselves. She is energized by supporting women as they discover their core values in order to live authentically and deeply. She loves supporting clients in realizing their full potential and letting their inner wisdom lead them to more balanced, more meaningful, and fuller lives. She is passionate about helping clients explore their experiences and deepen their understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their world.
Her dedication to creating a safe space helps women overcome shame, build self-esteem, and foster self-awareness. Her clients value her accepting and non-judgmental stance, allowing for openness, vulnerability, and exploration of even the most challenging themes. Her clients also appreciate her warmth, humor, genuineness, and attunement—characteristics that support a strong therapeutic relationship and foster growth, healing, and empowerment.
Dr. Margolis has extensive training in mental health and wellness, with specialties in depression and anxiety-related disorders, relationship issues, trauma, exploration of sexual and gender identity, and life transitions. She also has a background in health psychology, with a focus on the mind-body connection, managing chronic medical/health conditions, and the bidirectional relationship between physical and mental health. She has extensive training in evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Dr. Margolis also has experience and training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and psychodynamic and existential psychotherapies. She uses an integrated approach, pulling from these various modalities in a way that is tailored to the needs of each unique client. She is practiced in using these frameworks in both individual and couple’s therapy. In her couple’s work, Dr. Margolis is passionate about helping couples rediscover emotional intimacy, rebuild trust, and reconnect.
Prior to pursuing her doctorate degree, Dr. Margolis obtained a Master’s in Social Work, which helps her understand how various systems coalesce to impact each individual. Her time in the social work field provided training in social justice, advocacy, and multiculturalism—experiences that help her connect with the multifaceted elements of navigating life’s challenges, and understand the complexities of being a modern woman in the modern world. Dr. Margolis uses the breadth of her social work and psychology training and experiences to help clients live with more confidence, ease, insight, and self-compassion. Dr. Margolis has met all licensure requirements of the state of California, but due to administrative backlog of the board, she is registered as a psychological assistant (PSB94025099) and is supervised by Dr. Ruan (PSY29504) until her license is processed in November.
