What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is an expertly tailored counseling approach that delves into the intricate emotional, psychological, and relational facets of sexual wellness. Our seasoned and licensed sex therapists engage in collaborative partnerships with individuals and couples, guiding them in conquering barriers pertaining to intimacy, desire, communication, and sexual function.
SEX THERAPY FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COUPLES
Welcome to Thrive Psychology Group, where we recognize the vital role that healthy sexuality plays in one's overall well-being. Our specialized sex therapy services for both individuals and couples offer a secure and nurturing environment to delve into and address a diverse array of sexual concerns. Here, we prioritize creating a space where individuals and partners can openly explore, understand, and enhance their sexual well-being with the support they need.
Sex Therapy for Individuals
Whether you're grappling with issues such as low desire, sexual trauma, body image concerns, or difficulties achieving satisfaction, our individual sex therapy sessions are tailored to your unique needs. Our therapists provide a confidential and non-judgmental environment, encouraging open dialogue and exploration to help you regain confidence and fulfillment in your sexual life.
Many issues can negatively impact one’s sexuality, such as relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression, body image concerns, feeling self-conscious or inhibited during sex, reproductive health challenges, infertility, past trauma, or simply juggling working, caregiving, parenting, and just plain adulting. Women often struggle with feeling less desire or sex drive than they’d like, difficulty with orgasm, challenges talking about sex with their partners, pain during sex, questions about their sexuality, or just uncertainty or a lack of familiarity with what they find pleasurable and enjoyable.
If you’re experiencing any of these struggles, we want you to know that you are not alone, and that all of these are common, and solvable.
Sex Therapy for Couples
Navigating sexual concerns within a relationship can be complex. Our therapists guide couples in developing the skills and understanding needed to create a mutually satisfying and fulfilling sexual relationship.

HOW CAN THRIVE HELP?
At Thrive our goal is to help you navigate these challenges in the most healthy, effective way possible and to pursue the best relationship possible with your body and sexuality. Our psychologists combine evidence-based sex therapy interventions with evidence-based psychotherapies, to effectively target these problems and help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. Sex therapy might include learning to connect with your body and increase mindfulness to sexual experience, learning about your body and sexual responses, strategies to get you out of your head and into the moment, or overcome pain, anxiety, past trauma, or self-critical thinking.
Many clients have concerns about sex but may be nervous to bring it up. Sex and bodies are natural and normal, and it’s ok to feel embarrassed. That doesn’t mean it’s not important to work on if it’s something that’s bothering you.
It is important to note that sex therapy never includes sexual touch between therapist and client and you and only you determine what kind of sexual activity you would like to engage in. At Thrive, we take the position that if it is consensual and not harming anyone physically or emotionally, then if you want to do it, we want to help you get there and enjoy it in a healthy way.
Addressing these issues will improve your life satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, pleasure, emotional health, physical health, sense of connectedness to your body and quite honestly, enhances the human experience. If you are struggling with any of these issues or want to simply enhance your sexuality, this is something Thrive would love to help with.
